An unprecedented mental health crisis exists amongst adolescents in the UK today; increased anxiety and depression, leading to increased suicidal ideation and suicide rates, means NHS Mental Health services struggle to cope with the demands on their limited resources. Cyberbullying is on the rise and is linked to the decreased mental health in today's adolescents. Resilience training interventions have been promoted to counter the effects of adolescent mental distress.
The aim of the study is to attempt to discern possible unnamed processes of resilience development through the cyber-victim participants' individual meaning-making of the resilience training that they have undergone.
