Abstract

Stavroula (Stave) Vergopoulou’s Gender Representations in Commercials – Original and Translation is a comprehensive and insightful exploration of the interplay between gender and advertising, focusing on both original and translated audiovisual advertisements, the languages under scrutiny being English, German and Greek. The cover interestingly features an evocative artwork by Sevasti Stavridi titled Venus with Eros, which already sets the tone for the book’s deep dive into gender dynamics.
