Abstract

Biosecurity education relating to the Agribusiness sector is an often-neglected area of biological and chemical security. Biosecurity vulnerabilities within the sector hold significant global risks, with advancements in science and technology, the consequences of climate change and the presence of global conflicts emphasising the threat. Vulnerabilities host a multitude of Public Health (Physical and Psychological), Environmental, Economical and Political consequences. The following case-study examples are used to discuss Biosecurity within each category, Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy, Bluetongue virus, Avian flu virus, Black stem rust, Climate Change, Genetic editing, and the influence of Global conflicts. Biosecurity education data was collected via website analysis of secondary sources using the inclusion criteria; Agriculture, Animal, Biodiversity, Biology, Bio-resources, Biotechnology, Crops, Ecology, Environment, Food, Parasite, Pests, Plants, Poultry, Swine, Veterinary, and Wildlife.
