Abstract / Description
This book examines how young people in Europe construct their political identities. It is a study of 2,000 young people (11 to 19 years old) in 29 countries in Central and West Europe (EU members except UK, Ireland Greece), candidate states and EEC members). Based on 324 discussion groups in 104 different locations, it is an analysis of the political values and ideas proposed in non-directed deliberative discussions, analysed largely in terms of their identifications with different levels of political organisation, local, state and European identities.
