Abstract

New backing for the accession of the European Union (EU) to the ECHR was given by a Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) report released in March 2008. This article discusses whether or not the EU’s institutions should be under the supervision of the ECtHR, just like the governments of EU member states.
