An examination of some experimental methods of comparing intensities of spectrum lines

Smallwood, S. E. F. (1956) An examination of some experimental methods of comparing intensities of spectrum lines. Masters thesis, Northern Polytechnic.

Abstract

Several methods of comparing intensities of spectrum lines are described, using photographic plates, photomultipliers and photo-resistive cells as the measuring instruments. The performance of each of these detectors was assessed by using them, in turn, to determine the intensity ratios of the components of a particular mercury triplet.
