Abstract / Description
This article examines the absence of an express distinction between forward piercing and backward piercing of the corporate veil in English company law and argues that the Supreme Court missed the opportunity to develop the distinction in the case of Prest v Petrodel Resources Ltd [2013]. The underlying theme of the article is that the absence of a distinction has contributed to criticisms of the law in this area.
