Abstract

Facial recognition has become one of the defining technologies of modern surveillance. Today, AI systems can identify individuals from images and video with a level of accuracy that would have seemed remarkable only a decade ago. Yet despite these advances, public safety remains one of the most difficult challenges for AI.
