This project presents an intelligent surveillance system leveraging Raspberry Pi hardware and Azure cloud services. The system employs edge computing to enable real-time person detection and tracking directly on Raspberry Pi 4B devices, enhanced by Coral TENSOR PROCESSING UNIT (TPU) accelerators. By offloading data storage, advanced analytics, and visualization tasks to the Azure cloud, the system achieves a balanced and scalable architecture for modern video surveillance applications. The integration allows for efficient processing on the edge while utilizing the cloud for long-term storage, advanced computer vision models, and an interactive dashboard for live monitoring and historical footage review. This work states the feasibility of building cost-effective yet powerful surveillance solutions using low-cost edge devices in conjunction with cloud infrastructure.
