Abstract / Description

This book explores a genre of Hollywood films which address Hollywood stardom and the myths through which it is constructed. Featuring both fictional narratives about stardom and biopics about individual stars, the book examines the genre's core narratives, its genre hybridity, and the central mythologizing which occurs. This book is the first to explore this collection of films as a genre and to consider their significance in the construction of the stardom myth.
