Abstract / Description

Measurements on a range of bipolar output operational amplifiers indicate that there is wide variation in the dependence of power supply current on load current. This has serious implications for the selection of appropriate devices for certain types of current-mode circuit. It cannot be assumed that device behaviour will conform to simple descriptions of class AB operation.
