Abstract / Description

Black and white group portrait photograph of four women outside 10 Downing Street, holding 'stop strip searching' placards. A caption in accompanying papers reads 'Irish [female symbol] defence campaign, a group co-ordinated + based at LIWC, protesting outside 10 Downing Street against the mass strip searching of 21 female prisoners, Maghaberry Prison, during International [female symbol]'s week, 1993'. The four women are identified as [left to right]: Siobuán O'Riordan, Patricia Campbell, Doreen McClintock and Angie Birtill. Photographer unknown.
